  43. Nope, it wasn't that at all.

  45. After much experimentation, I realized the biggest difference between the Mac
  46. and the Amiga connection was that the Mac was PPP, and the Amiga was CSLIP.
  47.  
  48. So I changed to PPP, and lo! The problem went away.
  49.  
  50. Why? I haven't a clue. Not a one.

  52. Time to register the PPP.device.
